TS 3.0ltr auto transmission issue

I have a 94 ts that has developed an issue over time. For a few months now it would occasionally seem to jump out of 4th gear and just rev till the revs dropped down to idle speed then it would jolt and pick up 4th again. Over the weekend it did this again but would not pick up 4th at all and I seem to have lost 2nd gear also. My question is would this be due to the kickdown band and would a simple adjustment rectify the issue, or would it more likely be the end clutch?

I owned a TS 3L V6 for ages, and it wouldn't engage 4th gear when cold - it would just go into a false neutral.
My way around that was to switch out OD so that 4th was cut out, then drive for a few km. Hit the OD switch while coasting, and it would grab 4th.
OK for the rest of the day after that.

It was like that until the day I sold it.

On these boxes the torque converter does all of the work and the gears do little, ie it goes through the gears at low speed and it might seem 2nd does nothing. But experement with it.
Supposedly the end clutch is at fault.

Thanks for the reply, mine was similar until the weekend, now I have to drive with the OD always off or it goes into the "false neutral" doesn't matter how hot it gets as I did more than 1000kms and wouldn't go into 4th. Also I say 2nd has gone as it will now rev a lot higher in 1st(doesn't matter which position pwr button is in) before it goes into 3rd. I will try and adjust the lockdown band tomorrow and post back.

It will be the overdrive clutch packs - thankfully it's a simple job to replace and no more than $100 worth of parts. Jack the car up and undo the 3 10mm bolts on the drivers side end of the transmission. Have done multiple Mitsubishi auto transmissions which have lost overdrive this way.
